The past few days I’ve been reminiscing,
I’ve been thinking…
what we had was special, you were the person I wanted. The man I needed.
We had our ups and downs, but time has a funny way of running away from us.
It was love, I’m sure of it because when I think of u my heart races but it’s a different kind of beat.
My heart raced when we fell in love.
Now it races at the thoughts of what could’ve been.
I wrote u a love letter, it will be there forever, I meant it, I will forever love you.
Just not enough to see myself unhappy, again.
It hurts different when the love for a person u once saw a future with is not the person you will have a future with.
It cuts different knowing that we were once happy and now, we here.
It hits different knowing we built so much only to realize it was a house on straws.
What we had was special, yes, I won’t deny it.
What I am now and who I am now is even more special then the heart races of reminiscing and thinking about us.
